In 1967, Carl "Pap" Schaeffer, his wife, Fern(aka "Nana"), and their son Dennis turned their love of motorcycles into more than a hobby. In a 30'x 60' story building, off Route 61 in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, the three of them began selling, servicing, and accessorizing Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. The loyalty to Harley-Davidson® and complete customer satisfaction, Schaeffer's Harley-Davidson, Inc. was born.

Now almost fourty years later, many things have changed at Schaeffer's Harley-Davidson. In the spring of 1998, Schaeffer's added Buell® to their motorcycle family. Buell® motorcycles, a subsidiary of Harley-Davidson®, brings more sportbike-oriented, edge-of-your-seat, riding experiences to those customers that want to handle the twisties. For the prospective customer, our dealership became a Harley-Davidson® Authorized Rental Dealer in June of 2002. This program gives both current and future motorcycle owners an opportunity to travel on a rental motorcycle of their choice. We have over sixty specially-trained full and part-time personnel whom are ready to serve customers in our recently designed 31,000 square foot two-story facility. One thing has not changed......our belief around customer satisfaction and a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Throughout the years, Schaeffer's Harley-Davidson/Buell has been recognized for its outstanding performance.
2001 Top 10 Buell® dealership in the United States as a recipient of the prestigious Pegasus Award, presented by the Buell Motorcycle Company.
2003 Service Department received the Harley-Davidson® Service Excellence Award for the Northeast Region
Schuyikill County Chamber of Commerce Organization of the Year.
2005 Employer's Excellence Award for community involvement from the Northeast Pennsylvania Manufacturers and Employers Association.
2005 Buell® Motorcycle Company Promoter of the Year
2006 Better Business Bureau Torch Award in recognition of outstanding service and Market Place Ethics.

Working Toward Noble Goals
With continuing support of the Harley-Davidson and Buell brand names, Schaeffer's Harley-Davidson has taken a leading role in the community. Over the past decade and half, Schaeffer's Harley-Davidson has been dedicated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. In hopes of elinimating neuromuscular diseases, customers and friends participate annually in the "MDA Ride-for-Life". This event raises funds for research and equipment for local community children and adults stricken with muscular dystrophy.
Besides their pledge to support MDA, Schaeffer's Harley-Davidson has also participated over the past five years to support another great cause, the fight against cerebal palsy. Unfortunately, cerebal palsy is another disease that threatens many children and adults throughtout the world. We have teamed up with the Schulykill County Avenues and the Friends of Avenues to help raise money annually to find a cure for this unfortunate disease.

Today, Schaeffer's Harley-Davidson will be celebrating 40 years of tradition. With the growth of Harley-Davidson® and the motorcycle industry, we have grown too. As mentioned, our dealership product line offerings includes Harley-Davidson® and Buell® motorcycles, a full line of Genuine Motor Accessories & MotorClothes® merchandise, a technologically-advanced Dyno Room, On-Line Internet Shopping through H-D.com, Lehman Trike Conversions (3 wheel conversion kits from Alberta, Canada-based company), and Harley-Davidson® Authorized Rentals Dealer. To keep the family heritage and welcome the youngest Harley-Davidson® enthusiasts to our dealership, we have created a one-of-a-kind, exclusive playland for Harley kids, the "Tot Rod Quarter Mile".
