If this is your first time buying a motorcycle, you may be a bit overwhelmed by all the different models on the market. If you’re not quite sure what you're looking for it’s easy to become overwhelmed or even confused by so many different choices. To help you find your perfect motorcycle, we’ve written up short summaries and comparisons for each motorcycle style below. However, if you still have questions afterward, you’re always welcome to visit us here in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, and speak with one of our expert staff!

Standard vs. Cruiser

Standards are some of the most popular motorcycle models on the market! They’re perfect for first-time owners who are looking for an affordable option for commuting or short trips. However, these bikes are also very bare bones, meaning they don’t come with a ton of features or variation. If you’re looking for a model with style, or a surplus of amenities, a cruiser is the better option. Just be careful, as these models can get quite heavy, making them difficult for smaller riders to maneuver.

Sport Models

While all motorcycles are built to handle high speeds, none are quite as impressive as a sports model. When it comes to performance, these motorcycles can’t be beaten. Besides their impressive acceleration, these models also exhibit improved agility and the ability to stop on a dime. While you can use them for traveling around town, they’re really better suited for a racing track.

Trike vs. Touring

These models are currently the only two motorcycles on the market built to handle long-distance travel. As a result, both models come with helpful features such as built-in storage compartments, extra large fuel tanks, and comfortable multi-seating. However, trikes also come with an added third wheel that provides extra stability out on the road, making them easier for riders to maneuver and turn.
